Edit your abandoned checkout recovery message template

So we know that our SMS Abandoned Cart Recovery is proven to remove barriers to purchase and bring customers back, but did you know that it’s possible to edit your message template so that it better fits your brand copy?

After a shopper abandons their checkout after entering their phone number, they receive an automatic, personalized text message geared to bringing them back to purchase.

The recovery message contains the dynamic product that they abandoned at checkout and opens up a direct line of conversation to your brand.

You can edit this personalized message so that it better fits your brand’s language.

Step by Step:

  • Log into your SaveMySales dashboard and click on the ⚙️ icon in the top right corner
  • Click on “Messages” in the drop down menu
  • Enter your Store Name
  • Choose the “Custom” template from the drop down menu
  • Enter a custom Persona Name that you would like to use for your brand
  • Enter a custom message to be sent to shoppers that abandon checkout – you can insert dynamic elements using the “Insert Dynamic Elements” selection
  • Click “Save”

Our recommended template is:

Hey {{first_name}}, this {{sms_persona}} from {{display_name}}. I see you’re checking out our {{top_product}}. Great choice! Want me to see if I can get you a discount? PS: msg & data rates may apply. Let me know if you want me to stop texting.

Your shoppers will receive an awesome, new personalized SMS message from your brand when they abandon their checkout.

Pro Tip: Make your message conversational to encourage shoppers to reply back and build a relationship with your brand.
